I did not like this movie! i could not believe these people acted the way they did just three days after the tragic loss of a loved one!

a weak, uninteresting story!
i really don't care how much it paralleled the director's own story. A lousy movie is a lousy movie. .

So few movies have any real substance these days. It seems hollywood goes for the quick buck. I guess i can see why. Movies like this tend to disapear from the theaters before you know they are there. Where was the buzz on this movie? if you did'nt like the movie anyone would have to appreciate the acting, which was superb. This was one of the best movies i have seen in a long time and i saw it on dvd. I am glad i did'nt miss it altogether. Neither should you. .

This is one of the best movies that i have seen in a long time. the actors in this movie truly depict the real life feelings and emotions after the tragic death of a loved one. the movie shows that after someone close to your heart dies, life moves on, and so does love. Outstanding performances from dustin hoffman, susan sarandon, and october sky's jake gyllenhaal shine through. .

This movie was bittersweet, but seemed to have a timeless quality to it that most people could relate to. it was awhile before i really noticed that it was set in an earlier time. even when i did notice, it seemed as if they mixed up the time periods, maybe on purpose? jake g. Does a wonderful job, as do hoffman and sarandon, at making us relate to the tragedy as if it were our own. .
