Excellent film, one of the best in 2005...by far the best Batman I've seen or even most successful translation from comic to film in my mind.
Oh...I'm not a big comic fan! |

I wish there was a 4.5 star rating for this movie. I went ahead and gave it 5 because I like comic books movies and it's nice to see a good oen for a change. This is a movie not about special effects or even supercharged action - it tells a story. I will buy this movie and sit and watch it from start to finish every time, others like spider-man have good stories but I will more likely to just go to a action scene and watch it. This is a, dare I say , deep movie. It is an adult look at a kids character, that is hard to pull off. Sure the end was not a huge over-the-top explosion and the bad guy was not overly superpowered - that is what was great. It was a serious and relatively believable look at Batman and what made him the character many poeple love so much. I think people who dont like comic books will appreciate this movie too. |

Honest2death, I never said you shouldn't compare the two movies; I said it was unfair to hold Tim Burton's movie as this movie's standard. Of course it's fair to compare the two; I have compared them many times. That's a perfectly logical thing to do. I'm just saying it isn't fair to Christopher Nolan or to any of the writers to say this movie isn't accurate because it contradicts Tim Burton's. That was my point from the beginning. |

if your refering to any of my comment bherrle, for my defense, when people and magazines were reviewing this film, they were refering it to as a prequel, which it isnt a prequel, hense me wondering why the didnt link, up, and second of all, comparing the tim burton films to the christpher nolan films is Just. they are both batman films and i happen to prefer the tim burton ones. you saying you cant compare batman and batrman begins, is ike saying you cant compare Spiderman to batman as a movie. they are both fo the same genre so compiron is completly justified. i think that batman begins is a good film. i think christopher Nolan did an exxcellent job. especially consierding the only type of films he did bnefore this were thrillers. |

All right people, I have no problem if you didn't like this movie. You are certainly entitled to your opinions; I am fine with that. But for the love of Bob Kane, PLEASE have a clue as to what you're talking about before you start insulting this movie. For instance, those of you who hold this movie up to Tim Burton's "Batman" as its standard, remember two things: 1: this is a reboot of the franchise, so things are NOT going to line up with that movie, and 2: THIS movie is much closer to the batman comics, which is what comic book movies SHOULD be measured against in the first place. It's senseless to insult this movie for not being more like Tim Burton's movie; it's like hating the comic books because they're not like that movie. It's like hating the book "War of the World's" because it's not like the movie. Again, if you dislike this move because you didn't care for the MOVIE, that's fine. But I think it's unfair of you to insult it because it's not like the "originals". |

My computer malfunctioned for a second, but what I was going to say is this. I tend to agree with honest2death here, maybe not as violently but he is right. Whether or not the story follows the comic I really don't care. All I know is that tim burton made some really good films and I do think his first batman is the better of all the others. This one has taken a step in the right direction towards burtons more dark atmosphere and action...but it lacks just a bit. I liked it and would recommend it to some. |
