Familiarity with the tale kills the beast!!
Reminiscent of so many 50's monster films (not to mention Jurassic Park) and of flicks of other genres throughout!
Remakes often disappoint let alone re-remakes...P.J. already did his commercial best tho!
Mind you I'm a great fan of LOTR.
Could be 15 mins. shorter in length!
If I was 25 or younger, I'm sure I would give it a higher rating.

All I have to say is WOW!!! I went into this movie thinking that it was just going to be your typical remake with a stupid story line and huge, over-the-top special efects to try to pull it off. Well, like I said...wow...was I wrong! The 1st 30 minutes were kinda slow but it had to be to set up the next 2 1/2 hours of non-stop action and excitement. Just simply amazing...a must see for anyone who enjoys watching movies, period.
