Rocky Balboa is a great movie and and stays true to the rest of the Rocky films.

In and of itself Rocky Balboa is not a great movie, though it is a really good one. However, as part of the Rocky series it becomes a great move by association. I grew up watching Rocky movies, and I, like a lot of Rocky fans, was extremely disappointed with Rocky V. But now, thanks to Rocky Balboa, we can officially throw Rocky V in the trash can where it belongs. Rocky Balboa can nicely replace Rocky V, as the new Rocky V. In fact, before I went to see Rocky Balboa, I watched Rocky’s I-IV first, just to see if Rocky Balboa would fit behind Rocky IV, and you can rest assured that it does. So goodbye Rocky V, and good riddens.
I thought this new movie was done really well, and was quite clever in how it looked and felt so much like the original. I loved the way they sort of revisited the old stomping ground. I sort of felt like the way the old neighborhood was decaying it could actually be used as a metaphor for America itself. From a personal point of view, it was just nice seeing Rocky on the big screen again. If I had to make a complaint about this movie I would have to say it was the fight scene itself. Though entertaining, if you’ve seen one Rocky fight you’ve pretty much seen them all. Fortunately, for my 11 year old nephew, he’s never seen a Rocky fight, so that was the highlight of the movie for him. Isn’t it weird, the difference a generation can make?
Needless to say, there were a lot of great moments in this movie, and I thought the argument that Rocky has with his son was profound. If you haven’t guessed it by now, I highly recommend you go see this movie.

This movie was a perfect way of bringing Rocky back into the ring.. If you were a Rocky fan in the past then you'll be one all over again.
