This movie makes me wonder if the original was any good either. Overall I was disappointed and not a single hair was raised. The bad guy was over-acted in the bad way and the movie was a disappointment.

I have been a fan of Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill & John Tucker Must Die) for quite some time & had no choice but to see her in The Hitcher. This thrilling rollercoaster ride is about Grace Andrews & Jim Halsey, a young couple (Sophia Bush & Zachary Knighton) who are en route to spring break, but come across a mysterious hitchhiker stranded in the rain named John Ryder played by Sean Bean (LOTR: The Fellowship of the Rings & Silent Hill). Grace decides that it is not a good idea to pick up a stranger. What happens after this is something that they would have never imagined. All hell breaks loose & the young couple is running for their lives from this mysterious hitchhiker. This might not be the most gory movie, but there are a ton of suspenseful moments that make this an edge-of-your-seat thriller. The three leads here are great. Music video director Dave Meyers (directed music videos for Britney Spears, OutKast, etc...) makes his feature directorial debut here with The Hitcher. For a first timer, he did a pretty damn good job. So, if you have enjoyed such movies as the original Hitcher or Joy Ride, then you will definately enjoy this modern twist of the The Hitcher.

The oringonal screenplay was written back in the seventies, when woman were hitchhiking as a trend an in certain cases getting in trouble, duh.) of course this terrible remake is full of blood and guts and gore, another clumsy stupid attempt to make money off a old out dated storyline that is sadistically driven. I have no respect for hollywood these days.

Pretty good remake. Alot better than that Black Christmas remake. Stays faithful to the original, which was a good movie as well!
