dovvod is right, wall-to-wall horible.
This movie is flawed, unfunny and poorly written almost all the way through. They deliver what could arguably be THE most annoying movie character of all-time with the Steve Carell character. Then, they proceed to have him grate on your nerves for about an hour.

Once in a while you see a move that makes you worry about the future of the USA. This is one of those movies.
This movie is an insult to the intelligence of the movie going public, who are the real schmucks here.
The fact that anybody enjoyed it is a real worry.
Here is an intelligent scene: Carrel gets hit by a car driven by Rudd. Carrel asks Rudd how much money it will take to keep the whole thing quite. (I guess this is supposed to show what a dolt Carrel is. But have you ever heard of a more moronic premise?)
Here is a funny line: "Spank me. Spank me." (Spoken by woman while her beloved is talking on the phone.)
Here is a fuuny scene: Carrel and lady toss around wine bottles and other sundries wrecking Rudd's apartment. They're not angry or having a fight. They just think that this is fun. (Is the audience supposed to think this is funny? Hard to believe.)
I am not cherry-picking bad moments from the movie. It is wall-to-wall horible.
