I think people are overly praising this film because it is indeed so different. I kept expecting something exciting to happen or for the plot to pay off but it never really does. It certainly is an art-house film through and through with a few bursts of ultra violence to grab attention.

I can't really say I enjoyed this movie because it was so brutally violent.But I do appreciate a movie with good acting and a good story and this movies has that.Reminded me of "Taxi Driver".The 2 leads are both very good here.Gossling is a nice guy that gets pushed to the breaking point.When he does,look out!Albert Brooks who is best known for his comedic roles is perfectly cast here.Nice job all around.Worth the price of admission but be sure you have the stomach for it.
