I read the book many years ago so I wondered how they would make a movie out of it. I was amazed at how well it was portrayed and look forward to it on DVD

This movie was ok but really didn't translate very well from the stage to the screen.The acting here is first rate and oscar worthy.But some of the monologues that were part of the play just didn't seem to fit in to the movie very well.Kimberly Elise should definitely get a best actress nomination for this movie.She was amazing!The movie was very emotional and well acted but just didn't work on all levels for me.Worth seeing but at the matinee price.
