Maybe I have a soft-spot (beyond thawing) for these characters, but I and my whole family really enjoyed this film. Right up there with the original, which was an "instant classic" in my mind as well. The character development and sub-plots of family were great.

The don't know when they see a bad movie so it is ok to make sequels like this one. They do it for the kids not grown-folks just remeber that when watching it.

I'm a fan of the first movie, but this one seems like just another half-hearted cash-in. Even the kids in my theater seemed bored. At least the CGI has improved since part 1, and Scrat (the Wile E Coyote of the 21st century) still provides the funniest moments. My guess is that 20th Century Fox demanded a sequel, and Blue Sky Studios grudgingly obliged. So, when's the new Pixar movie coming out....?
