Not as bad as i thought it could have been. It had the potential to really go screw ball and get some big laughs but it just hinged on amuzing. Not worth a night out at the movies but might serve a nice rental at christmas if youve seen all the really great christmas movies. .

I know i gave this a pretty high rating, but i liked it. . . . Ok!!! it was pretty funny and light hearted, not as bad as the critics say. I think there are a lot of affleck haters out there, so he is good looking and can get a lot of chicks, don't hate for that reason.

The movie is a little slow in some parts, but i thought ben affleck was actually funny.
it is a light-hearted christmas story and i recommend it for the holidays.

Good christmas movie! ben affleck got a little annoying at times but overall did a pretty good job, good thing christina applegate and catherine o'hara were there for some good laughs or he might have been in trouble! hehehe. . . . Go see it :).

In spite of great potential, surviving christmas fell flat. being a male movie-goer, ben affleck is my mortal enemy; however, he provides a very entertaining performance in this holiday story. unfortunately, focusing on affleck's character detracts from the soul of the film…the struggling valco family. the movie was too focused on surviving its cliché jokes and time frame to allow the viewer a chance to relate with the characters. .

Ben affleck has made 24 movies. 20 have lost money, 4 made money. . . Good will hunting, armageddon, shakespeare in love and pearl harbor and he was the lead in 2 of these. . . . . In other words he is 2/24 and still makes 12-15 mil afilm. . . . Who the hell is he blowing. . . . Worst actor ever. . . . .

After reading the reviews, i wasn't expecting much. the movie was really pretty good. it doesn't deserve the poor reviews. i'm not even a fan of ben affleck, but i thought he was really funny. surviving christmas is a perfect movie if you just want to relax and enjoy a semi-decent movie with your family. .
