Comments: This movie is a mixed bag. The acting is not great but very good from the whole cast. The movie has a smart grown up adult political thriller feel. The whole time you feel like the intentional slow pace is building to something shocking or exciting but never delivers the goods. While the ending isnt bad its not worth the trip. Also in after thought you wonder about alot of things that seem to occur just for the sake of driving the plot in a certain direction not because it would make sense. A rental for fans of the stars and political movie junkies.

Comments: Sean Penn fantastic actor, yet he depresses me. He needs to do comedy's for a while. Nicole is too soft, her character is supposed to be deep and interesting, and yet she isn't. She's too soft spoken and flat. The film does not draw you in, and hold your attention, the way it should. Its very serious, very calculated and very flat. Something got lost in production. I would not recomend this movie.

Comments: I could not take Nicole Kidman or Sean Penn seriously in this film. What made it bad was seeing a trailer of Bewitched just before the film began which has Nicole in it with her twitching witching nose. I then watch the film, and I couldn't help but wonder if Nicole would just twitch her nose in the Interpreter. As for Sidney Pollack, who directed and had a few scenes in this movie, I was waiting for him to discuss tomatoes again as he did in Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman. The trailer killed it for me.
