A notable psychological horror flick. Unusual photography and effects. A somewhat disturbing theme because among certain sub sets of society, even in so-called "developed nations", these events are relatively common, yet hidden, as noted when reading the BBC web news. Human sacrifice is NOT only found in archaeological sites, it exists today in various forms among cults, fostered by their leaders who are simply on a power trip, hungry for absolute control of their "believers". VERY SCARY! The mind has strange powers. The ending was a twist.

If you have never seen a movie like this then the ending might seem surprising. I had the whole thing figured out at least half way through and it ended just as I had suspected. I still liked the atmosphere and characters. A better fine tuned script not so easily giving away the twist would have made this one much better. Also not advertising it as having a twist would have left one not trying to figure it out as much while watching it. Its not a bad movie but its nothing special.
